RSOS

RSOS stands for Rajasthan State Open School. It is an autonomous institution established by the Government of Rajasthan, functioning under the Department of Secondary Education. RSOS was set up to provide access to secondary and senior secondary education for a diverse range of students, including those who cannot attend regular schools due to various reasons such as geographical location, socio-economic constraints, or personal commitments. The institution offers flexible learning opportunities through distance education.

The primary objective of RSOS is to cater to the needs of students who wish to continue their education or improve their academic qualifications without the need for traditional classroom attendance. It offers courses equivalent to those provided by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) at the secondary (Class 10) and senior secondary (Class 12) levels. Students can choose from a variety of streams, including humanities, science, commerce, and vocational subjects.

RSOS conducts examinations twice a year. The curriculum and examination system are designed to be comparable to the regular board examinations. The institution aims to promote lifelong learning and provide educational opportunities to all sections of society, thereby contributing to the educational upliftment of Rajasthan. It plays a significant role in increasing literacy rates and providing a second chance to students who may have dropped out of the formal education system.
