RNAmognad is a term used in speculative discussions to describe a proposed RNA maturation pathway that would convert primary transcripts into mature, functional RNAs through a coordinated set of enzymatic steps. It is not part of established biology, and there is no consensus that such a pathway exists in known organisms.

In the hypothetical model, RNAmognad would involve a conformationally dynamic ribonucleoprotein assembly that acts cotranscriptionally to shape RNA folding, perform chemical edits, and add or remove terminal features. The maturation steps are imagined to include endonucleolytic cleavage of precursors, exonucleolytic trimming, nucleotide editing, and the introduction of modifications or protective end structures, followed by quality control and, when necessary, nuclear export or cytosolic translation.
