Key components typically found in an RF frontend include antennas, which capture the radio waves; low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), which boost the signal without adding significant noise; band-pass filters, which select the desired frequency band while rejecting others; and mixers, which combine the incoming signal with a local oscillator frequency to shift it to a lower frequency.

The design of an RF frontend is critical for the overall performance of a wireless communication system. Factors such as sensitivity, selectivity, noise figure, and linearity are paramount. A well-designed RF frontend ensures that the system can effectively detect weak signals and accurately distinguish them from interference, thereby enabling reliable communication.
