RFIDmärgendid refers to the identification tags that utilize radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology. These tags, also known as transponders, contain a microchip and an antenna. When an RFID reader emits a radio wave, the tag's antenna picks it up, powers the microchip, and transmits the stored data back to the reader. This process allows for contactless identification and tracking of items.

RFIDmärgendid come in various forms, including passive, semi-passive, and active tags. Passive tags are the most common and are powered by the radio waves emitted by the reader. They have a shorter read range but are cost-effective and do not require a battery. Semi-passive tags have a battery to power the microchip, which allows for a stronger signal and longer read range compared to passive tags, but they still rely on the reader for communication. Active tags have their own battery and can transmit data independently, offering the longest read range and most advanced features, but they are also the most expensive.

The applications of RFIDmärgendid are widespread. They are used in inventory management, supply chain logistics, retail for tracking goods, access control systems, animal identification, library book tracking, and even in passports and payment systems. The ability to read multiple tags simultaneously and their durability in various environments make them a versatile technology for automation and data management.
