RAWkäsittely

RAWkäsittely refers to the process of developing digital image files captured in the RAW format. Unlike compressed formats such as JPEG, RAW files contain unprocessed data directly from the camera's image sensor. This unadulterated data provides a greater degree of flexibility and control during post-processing.

The RAWkäsittely workflow typically involves specialized software. This software allows photographers to adjust parameters like white balance, exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, saturation, and sharpness without degrading image quality as significantly as would occur with a JPEG. Because RAW files are not "baked in" with camera settings, they can be revisited and reprocessed multiple times with different settings, offering a non-destructive editing experience.

Key advantages of RAWkäsittely include the ability to recover details in overexposed or underexposed areas, achieve a wider dynamic range, and exert fine-tuned control over color rendition.
