RABGGTA
RABGGTA is a gene that encodes a protein belonging to the Ras-related in brain (Rab) GTPase family. Rab GTPases are a large subgroup of the Ras superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins involved in regulating intracellular membrane trafficking. These proteins act as molecular switches, cycling between an inactive GDP-bound form and an active GTP-bound form. This cycling is regulated by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) and GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs). RABGGTA specifically is thought to be involved in the regulation of vesicular transport pathways, although its precise function and the specific organelles it interacts with are still areas of active research.
The RABGGTA protein contains a conserved GTPase domain and is characterized by its presence in the brain.
