R107

The R107 is the internal designation for a series of Mercedes-Benz roadsters produced from 1971 to 1989. It is also commonly known by its model names, such as the 350 SL, 450 SL, 380 SL, 560 SL, and others. The R107 was the successor to the W113 "Pagoda" SL and was itself replaced by the R129 SL.

Designed as a two-seater convertible, the R107 featured a removable hardtop, allowing for year-round usability. Initially launched with a 3.5-liter V8 engine, the R107 lineup expanded over its production run to include various engine displacements and configurations, primarily V8s. Notable models include the 450 SL, which became a popular offering in the United States, and later the 560 SL, which featured a more powerful 5.6-liter engine.
