QDLEDruudut
QDLEDruudut are a class of display technology in which quantum-dot light-emitting diodes form the emissive layer of each pixel. In these devices, quantum dots emit light directly when electrically driven, enabling red, green, and blue with narrow spectral lines and high color purity. The emission color is tuned by quantum dot size and composition, allowing broad color coverage with potentially high color accuracy.
Typical architectures place an anode, hole-injection and transport layers, an emissive quantum dot layer, electron-transport layers,
Current status is primarily in the research and development phase. Small-area prototypes demonstrate promising color control
Applications discussed include high-end consumer displays, virtual- and augmented-reality microdisplays, and signage where wide color gamut
