Päästmisest, or "emission" in English, refers to the release of substances, such as gases, particles, or energy, into the environment. The primary concern with emissions is their impact on the environment and human health.

One of the most significant types of emissions is greenhouse gases, which contribute to global warming and climate change. The most common greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O). These gases trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere, leading to an increase in global temperatures.

Industrial emissions, such as those from power plants and factories, are a major source of air pollution. These emissions can include sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter (PM). Air pollution can cause respiratory diseases, cardiovascular problems, and other health issues.
