Päälohkomet

Päälohkomet is a Finnish term that translates to "main block metal" and refers to a type of metal casting process. It is used in the production of large, complex metal components, often for industrial machinery or structural elements. The process involves creating a mold in two or more sections, which are then assembled to form the complete cavity for the molten metal.

The primary advantage of the päälohkomet method is its ability to produce very large and intricately shaped castings that might be difficult or impossible to achieve with single-piece molds.
