PyWavelets

PyWavelets, commonly referred to as pywt, is an open-source Python library for wavelet analysis and signal processing. It provides implementations of the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and the stationary wavelet transform (SWT) for one-dimensional data, as well as multi-dimensional variants suitable for two- and three-dimensional arrays, such as images.

The library offers a wide range of wavelet families, including Haar, Daubechies, Symlets, Coiflets, Biorthogonal and reverse biorthogonal wavelets, and supports both standard and custom wavelets. It exposes an API for forward and inverse transforms, multi-level decompositions, and reconstruction, as well as utilities for denoising, compression, and thresholding. In addition to 1D transforms, PyWavelets provides 2D and higher-dimensional routines for applications in image and volumetric data processing, and supports wavelet packet transforms for more flexible analysis.

PyWavelets is designed to work with NumPy arrays and integrates with typical Python scientific workflows. The project is maintained by an active open-source community and is distributed via the Python Package Index (PyPI).
