Purist

Purist is a noun referring to a person who adheres strictly to a particular tradition, doctrine, or standard, and who resists deviations or alterations. The term derives from the idea of pursuing purity; etymology traces to the Latin purus 'pure', via French puriste and English purist.

Purists appear in many domains, including language, religion, art, and popular culture. Language purists advocate strict grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary, often opposing loanwords, neologisms, or nonstandard usage.
