Pupuvaiheet refers to the distinct developmental stages that rabbits undergo from birth to adulthood. These stages are characterized by significant physical and behavioral changes. The first stage is infancy, where young rabbits, known as kits, are born blind and helpless, entirely dependent on their mother for warmth and nourishment. They remain in the nest during this period.

Following infancy is the weaning stage. Kits begin to explore outside the nest and start to consume solid food, typically grass and hay, alongside their mother's milk. Finally, rabbits reach adulthood. At this stage, they are fully grown, sexually mature, and their behavior patterns are established. They continue to grow in size for a short period after reaching sexual maturity.
