Puolipääakseli

Puolipääakseli, also known as a half-shaft or axle shaft, is a component in a vehicle's drivetrain that transmits rotational power from the differential to the wheels. It is typically a solid bar or tube that connects the differential's output to the wheel hub. In rear-wheel-drive vehicles, there are usually two puolipääakselit, one for each rear wheel. In front-wheel-drive vehicles, there are two puolipääakselit for the front wheels, and in all-wheel-drive vehicles, there are puolipääakselit for both front and rear wheels.

The design of a puolipääakseli can vary depending on the vehicle. Some are solid shafts, while others are hollow tubes. They often incorporate universal joints or constant velocity (CV) joints at either end. These joints allow for changes in angle and distance as the suspension moves and the wheels turn. The CV joints are particularly important in front-wheel-drive vehicles where the front wheels must steer as well as receive power.
