Puoliläpinäkyvien

Puoliläpinäkyvien is a Finnish term that translates to "translucent" or "semi-transparent" in English. It describes a material or object that allows light to pass through it, but not so much that objects on the other side can be clearly seen. Instead, objects viewed through a puoliläpinäkyvä substance appear blurred or indistinct.

This property is distinct from transparency, where objects are seen clearly, and opacity, where no light passes through. Many common materials exhibit translucency. Examples include frosted glass, which is often used for privacy in bathrooms or decorative elements, and thin paper or parchment. Some plastics, like certain types of films or containers, can also be puoliläpinäkyviä. In nature, materials like ice or certain types of gemstones can be described as puoliläpinäkyviä. The degree of translucency can vary greatly, ranging from almost transparent to nearly opaque.
