Puhuvista

The term essentially translates to "from the boss" or "from the top" in English. It refers to a societal phenomenon where politicians, business leaders, or public intellectuals advocate for or implement policies that benefit the powerful or affluent at the expense of the general population. This criticism often aims at top-down politics and economic systems that serve the interests of the privileged, leaving the less fortunate individuals to face increasingly challenging economic conditions.

Puhuvista is associated with how societal power is distributed, particularly in the context of neoliberal policies, economic downturns, and party politics. In Finland, for example, the concept has been linked to how politicians from the Center Party and the National Coalition Party have drafted policies that have had more advantages for the wealthy than for the rest of the population.

Advocates of the "puhuvista" concept argue that such policies ultimately benefit a small percent of the nation's population. They point out that those who push for policies that result in rising inequality are engaging in puhuvista.
