Prácum

Prácum is a commune located in the Kandal Province of Cambodia. It is situated in the southern part of the province, approximately 25 kilometers north of the provincial capital, Takmao. The commune is part of the Pongro District, which is one of the six administrative districts within the province.

The commune is relatively small in terms of population and area, covering an approximate total area of 58 square kilometers. Prácum is predominantly a rural area, with the majority of the population engaged in agriculture and other related activities. The commune is traversed by a network of rural roads and waterways that provide access to the surrounding areas.

The primary economic activities within the commune are mainly centered on subsistence farming and small-scale agriculture. The cultivation of crops such as rice, vegetables, and fruits are common in the area. Other economic activities, including trade, service provision, and small-scale manufacturing, also exist.

The population of Prácum is mainly Khmer, with a small proportion of other ethnic groups also residing in the commune. The community is predominantly Buddhist, and like many other rural communities in Cambodia, has relatively limited access to modern facilities and infrastructure. As such, infrastructure development, education, and healthcare remain key challenges facing the community.
