Primärfarbmittel

Primärfarbmittel, also known as primary colors, are a set of colors that cannot be created by mixing other colors. These colors are considered fundamental in color theory and form the basis for creating a wide spectrum of other hues. The specific set of primary colors depends on the color model being used.

In subtractive color mixing, which is relevant for pigments like paint and ink, the primary colors are typically red, yellow, and blue (RYB). When these colors are mixed in various combinations, they produce secondary colors like orange (red + yellow), green (yellow + blue), and violet (blue + red). Further mixing results in tertiary colors and a range of other shades. The absence of all color in subtractive mixing results in black, while full saturation of all primaries should theoretically produce black, though in practice it often results in a dark brown or muddy color.

In additive color mixing, used for light, such as on computer screens and televisions, the primary colors are red, green, and blue (RGB). Mixing these colored lights produces secondary colors like cyan (green + blue), magenta (red + blue), and yellow (red + green). The combination of all three primary additive colors at full intensity results in white light.

The concept of primary colors is crucial in art, design, printing, and digital media, enabling the creation and reproduction of countless colors. Understanding the different primary color models is essential for achieving desired color results in various applications.
