Primaarseid is a fictional mineral class described in speculative geology and science fiction literature. The term is used to denote a rare aluminosilicate phase that purportedly forms during early-stage metamorphism of ultramafic rocks. In the imagined taxonomy, primaarseid crystallizes in a layered hexagonal structure and can host a range of dopants such as iron, chromium, and rare earth elements, which produce blue to violet hues. The name combines a prefix implying primacy with a suffix used in mineral nomenclature in this fictional setting.

In the speculative properties, primaarseid is described as having a Mohs hardness of 6 to 7, a density around 3.2 g/cm3, and a refractive index near 1.62–1.68. It is said to exhibit weak cleavage and a birefringent color effect under polarized light. The material is described as stable up to approximately 900°C in air and as capable of luminescing under ultraviolet illumination due to rare-earth dopants.

Occurrence and formation are outlined in the fictional literature as pockets within ultramafic to mafic metamorphic belts, often found in association with serpentinite, magnetite, and plagioclase-rich phases. The distribution is depicted as trace, which makes primaarseid a subject of speculative mining narratives and theoretical study. Potential applications within the fictional framework include high-temperature dielectric components, UV detectors, and jewel-like decorative uses; however, no real-world synthesis or investigation exists outside the literary context.
