Prevenciu

Prevenciu is a term used to denote the act or practice of preventing the occurrence of harmful events. It encompasses efforts to reduce risk, limit exposure, and promote safety before problems arise. In public health, safety engineering, environmental management, and policy making, prevenciu refers to proactive measures designed to avert illness, injury, or damage.

The word is used as a direct translation of prevention in a number of languages; related cognates appear in Romance and other language families as prevention, prévention, prevenção, prevenzione, prevención, etc. The concept derives from Latin praevēnire, meaning to anticipate, and from the noun form praeventio or prévention in various languages.
