Presynaptískri

Presynaptískri is the genitive singular form of the adjective presynaptic in Slovene. In biology, the presynaptic element refers to the neuron or cellular structure that releases neurotransmitters into the synaptic cleft. This release is a crucial step in the transmission of signals between neurons or between a neuron and an effector cell. The presynaptic terminal, often a bouton or varicosity, is specialized for packaging and releasing these chemical messengers. These vesicles fuse with the presynaptic membrane to exocytose their contents into the synaptic space. The presynaptic neuron initiates the action potential that triggers this release.
