Praxair

Praxair, Inc. was an American multinational industrial gas company that produced, marketed, and distributed atmospheric gases (oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide) and process gases for a wide range of industries, including metals, chemicals, electronics, healthcare, food and energy. It offered on-site gas supply, bulk gases, cylinder gases, gas handling equipment, and related services.

Praxair traces its origins to Union Carbide's Gases and Welding division, and was established as an independent company in 1999. It grew through expansion of air separation plants, acquisitions, and the development of on-site gas supply and specialty gases for electronics and manufacturing.

In 2018, Praxair merged with Germany's Linde AG, forming Linde plc, a leading global industrial gases and engineering company. The transaction created a single company with operations worldwide; Praxair’s North American business largely continued under the Linde banner, and the Praxair brand was gradually phased out outside the United States.
