Potentsiomeetrite is a term used in some contexts to refer to potentiometers, which are variable resistors. A potentiometer is a three-terminal electronic component that provides an adjustable voltage divider. It consists of a resistive element, a sliding contact called a wiper, and two end terminals. By moving the wiper along the resistive element, the resistance between the wiper and either end terminal can be changed.
