Potentialforskelle

Potentialforskelle, often translated as potential difference or voltage, is a fundamental concept in physics, particularly in the study of electricity. It represents the work done per unit charge in moving a charge between two points in an electric field. Imagine an electric field as a landscape with hills and valleys; potentialforskelle are like the difference in height between two points on that landscape.

A positive charge will naturally move from an area of higher potential to an area of lower potential, much like a ball rolling downhill. Conversely, work must be done to move a positive charge from a low potential to a high potential. This work is stored as electrical potential energy.
