Postinumeroita (Finnish for "postal codes") are a system of alphanumeric identifiers used in Finland to simplify the sorting and delivery of mail. Introduced in 1969, the Finnish postal code system is designed to streamline postal services and improve efficiency in mail distribution.

Each Finnish postal code consists of five characters: four digits followed by a single letter. The first two digits represent the postal district, which corresponds to a specific geographic area, often a city or a large town. The next two digits indicate a more precise location within that district, such as a neighborhood or a cluster of addresses. The final letter serves as a check digit to ensure the accuracy of the postal code.

The system was developed by the Finnish Post (Suomen Posti) to modernize its operations and align with international postal standards. Unlike some other countries, Finnish postal codes do not always correlate directly with administrative boundaries, such as municipalities, but rather with postal sorting zones.
