Polissya
Polissya, also known as Polesia, is a geographic and historical region in Eastern Europe distinguished by extensive wetlands, forests, and river systems. The core of Polissya lies in the Pripyat and Dnieper basins, and the region spans parts of Belarus and Ukraine, with smaller areas extending into Russia and, to a lesser extent, Poland and Lithuania. The name derives from Slavic roots associated with marshy landscapes.
