Polikarpovs
Polikarpovs refers to a series of Soviet fighter aircraft designed by the Polikarpov Design Bureau. Nikolai Polikarpov, a prominent Soviet aircraft designer, led the bureau, and many of his successful designs bore his name. The most famous among these is the Polikarpov I-15, a biplane fighter that saw extensive service in the Spanish Civil War and World War II. It was known for its agility and maneuverability, earning it the nickname "Chato" (snub-nosed) by Spanish Republicans.
