Pokryciepokrycia is a term used in Polish technical discourse to describe a phenomenon in protective coating systems: the deliberate or incidental use of multiple layers that provide overlapping protective functions, resulting in a double or layered coverage of a surface. The concept highlights redundancy in coatings where one layer reinforces or complements another, for example improving corrosion resistance, wear protection, or waterproofing.

The word combines pokrycie, meaning coating or covering, with pokrycia, the plural form, and employs reduplication to emphasize redundancy. It is most commonly discussed in the context of construction, automotive, and marine coatings, where multilayer systems are common and the interaction between layers affects adhesion, thickness, and long-term performance.

In practice, pokryciepokrycia covers design decisions such as selecting compatible materials, interlayer adhesion, and the allocation of protective functions across layers. Typical scenarios include a primer for adhesion and corrosion resistance paired with a topcoat that provides weather sealing, color, and UV protection; in some cases, an intermediate barrier or ceramic or metallic layer adds extra durability. The approach can extend service life and protect critical substrates but may also increase cost, thickness, and complexity of maintenance.
