Pohjois-Pohjanmaa, also known as Northern Ostrobothnia, is one of Finland's 19 regions. It lies on the western coast along the Gulf of Bothnia and extends inland into forests and lakeland. The regional capital and largest city is Oulu, which serves as the main administrative and economic center.
