Pledger

Pledger refers to an investor who lends money to a company or individual in exchange for a promise to return principal and interest. This financial arrangement is typically used for a project or business acquisition. The lender, known as the "issuer" or "borrower" might have difficulties in getting the money from traditional sources such as banks or other financial institutions.

In finance, pledgers are often involved in privately organized funding initiatives, such as initial public offerings, debentures, or private placements. Companies issue bonds or notes to raise capital, with the promise of regular interest and return of principal. Pledgers provide investors the opportunity to participate in these organized funds by lending money directly to the companies.

In real estate investing, pledgers might take the form of real estate crowdfunding platforms that allow multiple investors to contribute smaller amounts of money towards a project, like constructing a building or refurbishing an existing property. Pledgers receive interest payments and potential property appreciation, in cooperation with project's success.

In private financing arrangements, pledgers agree to provide specified lending amounts to the borrower as per their wishes, at an interest agreed by the borrower.
