Planty

Planty, officially Planty Krakowskie, is a ring-shaped public park that encircles Kraków's Old Town in southern Poland. It occupies the site of Kraków's former city walls and surrounding moats, and forms a continuous green belt around the medieval core. The park was laid out in the early 19th century, with construction occurring in stages during the 1820s and 1830s after the fortifications were removed by the Habsburg authorities. The name "Planty" is derived from the planting of trees along the perimeter.

Today, Planty serves as a major urban green space for residents and visitors. Its tree-lined paths link
