Pisteytyksiä
Pisteytyksiä, meaning "dotting" or "pointillism" in English, is a visual art technique characterized by the application of small, distinct dots of color in patterns to form an image. The viewer's eye blends the dots of color together, creating a more vibrant and luminous effect than is possible with traditional brushstrokes. This technique is often associated with the Neo-Impressionist art movement.
Georges Seurat is considered the leading proponent of pisteytyksiä, developing it in the late 19th century.
While Seurat is the most famous practitioner, other artists, including Paul Signac, also employed this technique.
