Etymology and naming: The name blends “phosphor-” with “bor-” (boron) and a suffix “-ssin” reminiscent of silicon, following common practice for neologisms in inorganic chemistry.

Predicted structure and properties: In speculative scenarios, phosphorbronssin might form an extended covalent network or intermetallic-like ceramic, with strong P–B–Si bonding, high hardness, high thermal stability, and wide bandgap, potentially semiconducting.

Synthesis and isolation: Proposals range from high-pressure reactions of elemental phosphorus, boron, and silicon, to chemical vapor deposition or solid-state reactions at elevated temperatures; however, no experimental demonstration exists.
