Phosphinimidines

Phosphinimidines are a class of chemical compounds with the general formula R3P=NR', where R represents alkyl or aryl groups, and R' is also an alkyl or aryl group. The key feature of these molecules is the phosphorus-nitrogen double bond (P=N). This double bond is highly polarized, with a significant positive charge on the phosphorus atom and a negative charge on the nitrogen atom. This polarization contributes to their reactivity.
