Phetchabun

Phetchabun is a province located in the Phetchabun mountain range in Thailand. It is situated in the upper central region of the country and is known for its natural beauty and cooler climate. The capital city is also named Phetchabun. The province is characterized by its mountainous terrain, rice paddies, and fruit orchards.

One of the most popular attractions in Phetchabun is Khao Kho, a mountain peak offering stunning views and a pleasant atmosphere. This area is often referred to as "Switzerland of Thailand" due to its picturesque landscapes. Another significant site is Phu Thap Boek, another mountain known for its unique scenery and the Hmong villages scattered across its slopes. The Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, located on the border with Loei province, is a historical site with remnants of the Communist insurgency and striking rock formations.

The economy of Phetchabun is largely based on agriculture, with significant production of rice, corn, and fruits such as longan and peaches. The cooler climate in the higher altitudes is particularly suitable for growing temperate fruits.
