Phanopta is a genus of moths in the family Erebidae. The genus was erected by William Barnes and Foster Hendrickson Benjamin in 1924. Moths in this genus are found in North America. The type species for Phanopta is Phanopta binoculata, originally described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1879 as Erebus binoculata. Phanopta binoculata is found in the southwestern United States and Mexico. Other species may be included in the genus depending on taxonomic classification.
