Perímetros

Perímetros is a term used in geometry to describe the total distance around the outside of a two-dimensional shape. It is calculated by adding up the lengths of all the sides of the shape. For simple shapes like squares and rectangles, there are specific formulas to find the perimeter, but the fundamental principle remains the same: summing the lengths of all boundaries.

For a square, where all four sides are equal in length, the perimeter is four times the length of one side. For a rectangle, which has two pairs of equal sides, the perimeter is twice the sum of its length and width. For more complex polygons, one simply needs to measure or know the length of each individual side and then add them all together.

The concept of perimeter is not limited to geometric figures. It can be applied in practical scenarios such as calculating the amount of fencing needed for a garden, the trim required for a room, or the distance an athlete runs in a lap on a track. Understanding perimeters is a foundational element in many areas of mathematics and everyday problem-solving.
