Persius
Persius Flaccus, usually known simply as Persius, was a Roman poet of the Silver Age who lived from about 34 to 62 CE. He was born at Volaterrae (Volterra) in Etruria and traveled to Rome to study literature and philosophy. In Rome he studied under the Stoic teacher Lucius Annaeus Cornutus. Persius produced six satires, written in hendecasyllables, and died at a relatively young age before their publication.
