Persistálás

Persistálás is a term used in computing to describe the process of storing data in a way that it survives program execution. This means that when a program finishes or a computer restarts, the data remains available for future use. The opposite of persistence is volatility, where data is lost when the power supply is removed or the program terminates.

The most common method of data persistence is through the use of storage devices such as hard disk drives, solid-state drives, and flash memory. Data can also be persisted in databases, which are specialized systems designed for efficient storage and retrieval of large amounts of information. Other forms of persistence include writing data to files, using cloud storage services, or even embedding data within the program's executable itself, though this is less common for dynamic data.

A web server needs to store user information and website content. Online games often persist player progress and character data.
