Perforierungszellen

Perforierungszellen, also known as perforation cells or punching cells, are specialized units within a printing or converting machine designed to create perforations or score lines in a web of material. These webs can be paper, plastic films, or other flexible substrates. The primary function of a perforating cell is to introduce weakened lines that allow for easy tearing or separation of the material at specific intervals.

The mechanism typically involves a rotating cylinder fitted with a series of knives or perforating pins. As the material web passes through the cell, these knives or pins engage with the material, cutting partial slits or holes that form the perforation. The spacing and pattern of these perforations are determined by the design of the cylinder. In some cases, a matching anvil cylinder or a creasing wheel is used to support the material and ensure clean, consistent perforations.
