Peergranskning

Peergranskning, also known as peer review, is a critical evaluation process used in academic and scientific publishing. It involves subjecting a manuscript, such as a research paper or grant proposal, to the scrutiny of other experts in the same field. These reviewers, or peers, are typically unpaid and selected for their knowledge and experience relevant to the submitted work.

The process aims to ensure that published research meets established standards and contributes meaningfully to the body of knowledge. While peer review is widely considered a cornerstone of academic integrity, it is not without its limitations and criticisms, including potential for bias, inconsistency, and the time it can add to the publication process.
