Peñalara
Peñalara is a mountain located in the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range, within the Community of Madrid and Castile and León, Spain. It is the highest peak in the Sierra de Guadarrama, reaching an elevation of 2,428 meters (7,966 feet) above sea level. The massif is composed of granite and is known for its distinctive rocky summits and glacial cirques.
The area around Peñalara is a protected natural park, the Parque Natural de Peñalara, established in 1990.
