Participialit
Participialit is a term used in linguistics to describe the phenomenon of participles functioning as adjectives. Participles are verb forms that can modify nouns or pronouns, much like adjectives do. There are two main types of participles: present participles, which end in -ing, and past participles, which often end in -ed or -en.
For example, in the sentence "The *running* water was cold," the word *running* is a present participle
The distinction between a participle used adjectivally and a verb in a progressive or perfect tense is
