Paretohatékonyságos

Paretohatékonyságos is a term used in economics and game theory to describe a state where no further reallocation of resources can make any one individual or group better off without making at least one other individual or group worse off. This concept is named after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto. A situation is considered Paretohatékonyságos if it is impossible to improve someone's well-being without diminishing someone else's.

It is important to note that Paretohatékonyságos does not necessarily imply fairness or equality. A situation can be Paretohatékonyságos even if there are extreme disparities in wealth or well-being. For example, if one person has all the resources and everyone else has none, this could be considered Paretohatékonyságos if any attempt to redistribute resources would make the wealthy person worse off.

The concept is a benchmark for evaluating the efficiency of economic policies and market outcomes. Economists often analyze whether a proposed change leads to a Pareto improvement, meaning at least one person is better off and no one is worse off. If a change results in a Paretohatékonyságos state, it is considered an efficient outcome in terms of resource allocation. However, achieving true Paretohatékonyságos in complex real-world economies is often difficult due to the presence of externalities, imperfect information, and differing individual preferences.
