PanssariPantteri
PanssariPantteri, also known as the Armored Panther, is a Finnish main battle tank developed by Valmet Automotive. It was designed to replace the M48 Patton tanks in the Finnish Army. The development of the PanssariPantteri began in the late 1970s and the tank entered service in 1985. The PanssariPantteri is a third-generation main battle tank, featuring a modular design, advanced fire control system, and a powerful 120mm smoothbore gun. It is equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun for close-range defense and has a crew of four. The tank's armor is designed to protect against a variety of threats, including anti-tank guided missiles and high-explosive anti-tank warheads. The PanssariPantteri has been in service with the Finnish Army since 1985 and has seen limited combat use in the Gulf War and the Syrian Civil War. It is currently being upgraded with new technology and systems to extend its operational life. The PanssariPantteri is a significant part of the Finnish Army's armored force and plays a crucial role in the country's defense capabilities.
