Palri

Palri is a town and municipal council in the fictional region of Shivripur, Veridia. It serves as the administrative center of Palri District and a local commercial hub for surrounding rural areas.

Palri lies on the flat plains near the Chandra River, at an elevation of about 180 meters. The climate is hot semi-arid, with most rainfall during the southwest monsoon. The surrounding farmland is irrigated by a network of canals drawn from the river.

The town's origins lie in early medieval settlements, and the name Palri is thought to derive from the Palri language word for valley. It entered formal administration during the late colonial period and gained municipal status after independence.

Agriculture dominates the economy, with millet, groundnut, and pulses as primary crops. Cottage industries such as textile weaving and pottery contribute to local income. The weekly bazaar serves as a regional trading center.

The population is multiethnic, with Veridian-speaking communities and Hindi speakers. Religions include Hinduism, Islam, and smaller Buddhist communities. Local culture features traditional music and the annual Palri Harvest Festival.

Palri is governed by a municipal council of 15 elected members. It is part of Palri District within Veridia's provincial administration. Education facilities include a government college and several primary and secondary schools; healthcare is provided by a district hospital.
