PTBdomainin
PTBdomainin is a proposed protein domain or subdomain associated with phosphotyrosine-binding PTB domains in signal transduction proteins. It was introduced in theoretical analyses to account for observed variation in substrate specificity among PTB domain–containing adapters. It is not universally recognized as a separate domain in standard protein classification, and debate exists about whether PTBdomainin constitutes a distinct structural unit or a functional module within existing PTB domains.
