PSO1

PSO1, also known as Phantasy Star Online 1, is a Japanese multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Sega and published by Sega in 2000. It was originally released for the Dreamcast console and later ported to Windows. PSO1 was a groundbreaking title for its time, pioneering many features that would become standard in the MMORPG genre, such as instanced dungeons, cooperative gameplay, and a character progression system.

The game is set in the distant future on the planet Ragol, where players take on the role of hunters who must combat various alien creatures and uncover the planet's secrets. Players can choose from three distinct classes: Hunter, Ranger, and Force, each with unique abilities and playstyles. The gameplay involves exploring diverse environments, completing quests, and battling enemies in real-time combat. A key aspect of PSO1 was its hub area, Pioneer 2, where players could interact with each other, trade items, and form parties before venturing into the instanced adventure areas. The game featured a unique item system, with a wide variety of weapons, armor, and accessories that could be found or traded. PSO1 was also known for its anime-inspired art style and its memorable soundtrack. Its success paved the way for subsequent titles in the Phantasy Star Online series.
