Overproportionality
Overproportionality is a concept used in statistics and social science to describe a situation in which a subgroup’s share of a given outcome exceeds its share of the population. In practical terms, if a group makes up p percent of the population but accounts for x percent of a particular outcome, the group is overproportional when x > p (equivalently, when x/p > 1).
