Overföringsfrekvens

Overföringsfrekvens, sometimes translated as transfer frequency or sampling rate in English, refers to the number of times per second that data is transferred between two points in a digital system. This concept is fundamental in digital signal processing and telecommunications. A higher overföringsfrekvens generally means that more data can be transmitted in a given period, leading to faster communication or higher resolution in digital representations of analog signals.

In the context of audio and video, overföringsfrekvens is often synonymous with sampling rate. For instance, a CD audio has an overföringsfrekvens of 44.1 kHz, meaning the analog audio signal is sampled 44,100 times per second to create the digital representation. Similarly, in digital imaging, the overföringsfrekvens of a sensor determines how often it captures information from the scene.

The overföringsfrekvens is a critical factor in determining the bandwidth required for a communication channel and the fidelity of a reconstructed signal.
